Snow & Trail Condition Update - January 28, 2019
Snowmobile Trails
While the first substantial snowfall of the year was received last night it is not anticipated that trails will be opening until more snow is received.
Look for updates as conditions change, and we receive -more updates.
Cross-Country Ski Trailsย
With last night's snowfall of 4-5" expect trails to be in much improved condition.ย Grooming will be occurring on both trails in the next couple of days, leaving them in fair to good condition.
Today's Report from the Blue Hills Trails - 1.5"-2" snowfall overnight; snowing lightly this morning. Skating conditions: good Sunday on freshly groomed trails (check the 'Grooming' tab for details). Striding conditions: "OK" on a shallow classic track set Friday on the East Side core loop. Good edge control despite the underlying icy base; mostly smooth with adequate cover despite the overall lack of snow. Bring rock skis as well as good skis - you decide once you see the conditions.

An alternative: snowshoe / hike our snowshoe trails that start next to the warming house. Very enjoyable.
Another option: conditions for skiing on Audie Flowage may be OK. Audie is located 2 miles northwest of our trailhead; you can park at the boat landing south of the Audie Lake campground. Audie is a wonderful wilderness experience; the perimeter measures 6 km
Today's Report from the Sisters Farm Trails -ย We finally have enough snow to groom at Sisters Farm. Jim is rolling packing ski trails today and hope to groom them up tomorrow. We will try to get bike trails groomed tonight so they will set up well with the cold temps coming. Since we can now groom please do not hike on groomed trails and bikes should be running 3.8 or larger low pressure tires.
