Snow & Trail Condition Update - February 22, 2018

UPDATE - 6" of new snow received on 2/22-2/23 with more on the way... As trails are groomed expect great conditions on all trails for the weekend.

A few warm days this past week did cause some deterioration in the trails. However, the cold overnights kept the base in decent condition. The forecast calls for more snow over the next couple of days - so cross your fingers. Even without additional snow the trails are in very ridable condition - with much of the area still with good trail reports. Grooming continues, and the clubs are doing their best to keep them in great shape.

Snowmobile Trailsย  -
All Rusk County Snowmobile Trails are open and reporting fair to good conditions throughout the County.ย  Groomers are out on the trails nearly everyday, and a good base remains.ย  Be on the lookout for caution signs, detoured or closed trails- as that happens from time to time.ย  Otherwise, expect good sledding.
This weekend's Snowmobile event is the Sheldon Rough Riders Snowmobile Club's Brat & Chili Feed in Sheldon at their grooming shed on Trail #99 -- on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 11am-3pm.

Cross-Country Ski Trails -
A couple warm days did have an effect on the trails, but overall the trails remain in great shape. Fortunately, the cold overnights prevented additional deterioration, and the trail association's are grooming to get the best conditions. Good to excellent conditions on all trails. A good base with continuous grooming has the trails in excellent condition. Not much more can be said -- get out and glide.
All trails have track for classical skiing, and great groomed corduroy for freestyle (skate) skiing.
