X-Country Ski Trail Update – March 8, 2012
Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Trails will continue to have adequate snowcover for some time, especially the Blue Hills Trails. However, warm conditions during the day are limiting grooming and only providing a couple hour window in the morning (as long as temps get below freezing overnight), when skiing is good.

Snowmobile Trail Update – March 8, 2012
Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Trails conditions are deteriorating rapidly, and we have some updates from the local clubs. Hawkins has closed trail #25 north of Hawkins due to a bridge closure. Ladysmith has shut trails down in the City of Ladysmith (trails are bare), and Trail #98 between Conrath and Ladysmith is closed. Poor conditions are generally being reported from around the County, and road crossings, trails adjacent to roads, and exposed areas are in the worst condition. Trails in the Blue Hills are maintaining some snow and likely provide the best riding. If you do choose to ride use extreme caution, treat all water bodies (streams, rivers, swamps, etc.) as being unsafe, and be on the look out for slushy areas. It is unknown if trails will remain open through the weekend. We will post updates as we receive them.
