Snowmobile Trail Update - December 29, 2009
Rusk County snowmobile trails are now open, and are in fair condition in some areas and poor in others. Enough snow over the Christmas holiday left the trail system with adequate cover. Not all trails have been groomed, and riders ride at their own risk and should use extreme caution. With the snow came some rain, so there are wet areas and possible open streams. Riders may also come across closed gates, indicating the trail section is closed- turn around and do not go around these gates. As more grooming is done more information will be available.

X-Country Ski Trails Update - December 23, 2009
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
All cross-country trail systems are open and reporting good condition. A little more snow covers the Blue Hills Trail system where the entire system is groomed for skating, and a classical track has been set on a shorter portion of the trails. Good snow coverage, consistency, and texture are being reported from the Blue Hills groomers.
Groomers have also packed and rolled the Sisters Farm and Ladysmith Lighted Loop Trails (the lights are on!!). A classical track will be set when more snow falls.
To get current condition and groomer updates visit the trail system’s websites www.bluehillstrail.com or http://sites.google.com/site/latatrails/Home/archives/current-trail-conditions

Snowmobile Trail Update - December 23, 2009
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
Total snowfall received thus far is in the 7-10" range throughout the County, however trails remain closed. One or two good snowfalls are needed for adequate coverage to get the trails groomed and open. A significant Christmas snowstorm is forecast so hopefully that will get the trails in suitable condition. Groomers have been out on some trails getting them packed and getting swamps pushed down. Cross your fingers– it could be a good long season this year. Keep checking in for future updates.

X-Country Ski Trail Update - December 11, 2009
Friday, December 11th, 2009
We received a healthy snowfall this past week of 4-8" throughout the County. Early reports from the Blue Hills Trail groomers is that they have done the first grooming of the year. Most of the core and beginner loop has been rolled and rock cover is reportedly good (rock skis still recommended) with only a little grass poking out. The Trail Association does a great job of grooming and keeping us up to date on conditions and grooming schedules. They post their timely updates on their website http://www.bluehillstrail.com
