Effective Monday, March 8, 2010 – Rusk County snowmobile trails are closed.  The warm weather has deteriorated trails throughout the County creating bare trails, standing water, open swamps and streams, and unsafe ice.  This is most likely the end of the snowmobile season, see you on the trails next year.

Snowmobile Trail Update – March 8, 2010
Many trails in the County are unrideable and it is planned that trails will close on Monday March 8. A continued stretch of warm temperatures days has deteriorated trails rapidly. Trails throughout the area are in very poor condition with exposed areas and standing water. It is anticipated that trails will continue to deteriorate with temperatures forecast in the 40′s through the weekend, with the potential of rain. Be advised that a couple of trails (NE of Ladysmith #99 and N. of Hawkins #25) have seen some damage from logging operations. Always ride with caution and be aware of changing conditions, consider no stream/river/lake safe.
